The WPIAL Hall of Fame Class of 2026 includes 14 individuals and two teams that made an impact on local high school sports.
Coach Salvino he guided his teams to multiple WPIAL and PIAA championships during a 41-season career, winning titles at Monessen and later at Belle Vernon.
He finished with 745 career wins, second-most in WPIAL history, and never missed the playoffs as a head coach before retiring after last season.
Salvino was recognized by the Associated Press and inducted into multiple halls of fame for his impact on the game.
Angle, who won a state championship in 1987, went on to compile a 98-0 varsity record at Mt Lebanon. He went on to win the gold medal in the 1996 Olympics and went on to become an international superstar in World Wrestling Entertainment.
The annual WPIAL Hall of Fame induction banquet will be held on Friday, June 5 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Greentree.
