Someone outside Acrisure Stadium will walk away from a tailgate part on Saturday with a large sum of money.
Known as “The Give Back King”, Jamal Woodson of KDKA sister station WAMO is giving away $10,000 between noon and 3:45 at a tailgate inside Gold lot one A.
Fully self-funded, Woodson says he gives away money because he remembers being on hard times, trying to figure out how to improve his life without asking for a handout.
“Sometimes I’ll ask somebody for a dollar and if someone gives me a dollar, I’ll give them a couple hundred dollars,” said Woodson.
He’s also helped people with missed car payments, paid for groceries and gas, as well as gone through drive-thru’s and handed out money.
Woodson says he’s hoping someone see’s his story and wants to donate as well. “Even if they don’t want to donate money to me directly, if they’re like you’re next thing, I’d like to give $1,000 to someone who needs it.”
