
A woman was killed and 13 other people were injured in a drive-by shooting that occurred during a candlelight vigil in Baytown, Texas on Sunday evening, officials said.
The incident occurred at around 6:40 p.m. when an unidentified gunman opened fire on a crowd of about 50 people that were participating in an outdoor vigil for a recent homicide victim, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.
A mother was holding a vigil for her son who was killed at his home a couple of weeks ago, Sgt. Greg Campbell told ABC Station KTRK in Houston.
Gonzalez identified Disha Allen as the woman who was killed in the shooting. Three of the people wounded were in critical condition.
He went on to say that suspect drove in "a small dark colored sedan" and proceeded to open fire on the crowd gathered "at an outdoor food trailer venue on N. Market Loop." No have arrests have been made.
Sidney Williams attended the vigil, and told KTRK that he heard 20 to 30 gunshots.
"People were screaming and running to their cars," Williams said.
