During an interview on Sunday, former President Donald Trump said that if he loses the election in November, he won’t run for president again in 2028.
Trump shared his outlook on the future during an interview with the show “Full Measure” on Sunday, saying he has no intentions of running again.
“I think that that will be, that will be it. I don’t see that at all,” he said after being asked about a potential fourth campaign.
By the 2028 election, Trump would be 82-years-old.
After having the script flipped following the departure of President Joe Biden from the 2024 presidential race, Trump would have an even harder time showing age wasn’t an issue in another four years.
As things currently sit, the former president is trailing Vice President Kamala Harris in most polls, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ.
With things so close, many have called on the candidates to debate once more, after they faced off on ABC News earlier this year.
However, Trump has declined future debate invites, while Harris recently accepted one from CNN. Trump said at a rally on Saturday that it was too late to debate again.
“The problem with another debate is that it’s just too late. Voting has already started,” Trump said. “Now she wants to do a debate right before the election with CNN because she’s losing badly.”
