Is it a Christmas miracle?

Just a few days after the baby Jesus disappeared from a nativity scene in Texas, the statue has been returned. And a few days ahead of his birthday to boot.

Of course, the authorities investigating the disappearance may have gotten an assist from the public for making footage of the apparent theft quickly go viral.

Surveillance footage released online showed a man race towards the display, grab the Jesus and rush off. Another camera showed a different man holding the statue just a short time later, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.

The posting with the clip got over 1,000 views is less than 24 hours, and it appears the thieves were not appreciative of the sudden fame.

The statue was mysteriously returned Wednesday morning.

Zach Murphy, security director for Sundance Square, the site of the disappearance, credited the FWPD. “[They] did a great job,” Murphy said. “And he’s already back here with us. Before Christmas, might I add.”
