A Utah couple moving to Kansas this week is asking for help after their truck and trailer full of what they describe as 'all of their belongings was stolen sometime on Tuesday morning. Then it went from bad to worse.

The truck and trailer were discovered with everything inside of it burned.

"The Aurora Fire Rescue team found the trailer," says an update on their Go Fund Me page. "The trailer along with everything inside was burned. Police weren’t able to identify any fingerprints.

'The truck was also found several hours later in an apartment complex in Denver, unable to start (caused by the thieves bypassing the ignition the first time) and some damage to the door lock. After deserting the truck in the apartment complex, a second truck was stolen to carry the trailer elsewhere."

Matthew Fuller shared with KSL TV that the truck went missing after his father-in-law parked the vehicle in a hotel parking lot near the Denver airport.

“(He) came outside, and the truck was gone,” Matthew Fuller told KSL TV. “I wouldn’t wish it on anybody.”

The couple tried to think ahead in the case of potential theft, placing Apple AirTags in their luggage and trailer, but whoever took the vehicle found the tracking devices and threw them out.

Matthew Fuller shared with the news outlet that he, his wife, and their son were headed to Wichita, Kansas, where he recently received a new job after graduating from Utah Tech University.

After accepting the job offer and finding a new home, Matthew Fuller loaded up his family’s belongings as he and his father-in-law began the journey to Kansas.

Lindsey Fuller and her mother took to the sky instead of driving with their husbands.

She shared with KSL TV that the items in the truck included childhood journals and mementos, her wedding dress, and wedding rings, all things she says they can’t replace.

“Everything,” Lindsey Fuller said, fighting back tears. “Everything that means something to us — it’s not just replaceable furniture.”

While police continue to investigate, Matthew Fuller and his father-in-law are continuing their drive to Wichita in a different vehicle.

In an effort to recoup some of their losses, family members of the couple have set up a GoFundMe account.

“It’s just depressing,” Matthew Fuller said. “It’s heartbreaking to move into a new house with nothing to move in — it’s all gone.”
