Several big-name Republican gubernatorial candidates have won their races across the country, but Democrats have also won key elections, according to polling results.

Gubernatorial races across the country are beginning to be called, and with results being reported, several familiar faces have maintained their seats — or gained them.

Top Republicans maintained their seats as The Associated Press has reported Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, and Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds have both won their reelection campaigns.

Other republicans to hold onto their seats include Ohio and Vermont Govs. Mike DeWine and Phil Scott, respectively.

Democrats have also shown their power, with Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker being reelected for another term, Wes Moore winning his race in Maryland, and Maura Healey winning her election in Massachusetts.

Other noted victors include Republican Sarah Huckabee, who once served as former President Donald Trump's White House Press Secretary but has now been voted the next governor of Arkansas.

Huckabee's race, and several others, is being seen as a tester for Trump's influence not only throughout the Republican party but also the country.

Other races that are too early to call include Pennsylvania's showdown between Democrat Josh Shapiro and Republican Douglas Mastriano, and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's battle against Tudor Dixon.
