A shooting on Saturday night outside of a Waffle House in the Atlanta area resulted in five teens being injured, according to Atlanta police.
The shooting took place near Centennial Olympic Park at around 10 p.m., and when officers arrived at the scene, they found three people with gunshot wounds, according to Deputy Chief Timothy Peek.
Peek spoke with reporters, saying that shortly after arriving at the Waffle House, they were notified that two other teens had taken themselves to a nearby hospital, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said.
Peek said that investigators later discovered the two with gunshots at the hospital had taken a vehicle from a valet at gunpoint. Both have been charged with carjacking a motor vehicle, a press release said.
Investigators currently think that a fight started between two groups of people before things escalated to gunshots. However, Peek shared they do not have a motive yet.
Those injured were 15 to 19 years old, and all are in stable condition, police shared.
The stolen vehicle was recovered from the hospital, and three weapons were recovered at the Waffle House, Peek shared.
The investigation into what caused things to escalate and all that transpired remains ongoing.
