If he sees his shadow, he gets scared and runs back into his hole, meaning another six weeks of winter.

If he doesn’t see his shadow that means an early spring is coming.

Even those who don’t mind another six weeks of winter will now be hoping for an early spring as well.

Samuel Adams beer, now the official beer of Groundhog Day, says they’ll give away $50,000 worth of their spring beer, Cold Snap, if Phil predicts an early spring.

Those that want a free Cold Snap, if Phil doesn’t see his shadow, can enter here to win a $10 e-gift card.

Samuel Adams says they’ll send out 5,000 gift cards out in total to winners.
