A tip for any expectant parents creatively planning their lavish gender reveal party - whatever you do, make sure it doesn't involve firing a gun.
Three schools in Tennessee were sent into lockdown on Wednesday after a celebratory gunshot fired at a nearby gender reveal party was mistakenly feared to be an active shooter.

The incident occurred at a neighborhood in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, about 35 miles southeast of Nashville. The gunfire along with a loud scream were heard at approximately 1:30 p.m., prompting a concerned neighbor to quickly call the police, according to authorities.
Officers placed Oakland High School, Oakland Middle School and John Pittard Elementary School all on lockdown as a precaution while they addressed the situation.
An investigation revealed that the commotion was not due to an active shooter, but instead because expecting parents were hosting a gender reveal part with out of county family members over the phone. During the celebration, the soon-to-be father fired “celebratory rounds” into the sky and the pregnant mother screamed in joy when it was revealed she was having a baby boy.
The man was cited for the unlawful charging of a firearm inside city limits.
The lockdowns were immediately lifted once police realized there was no threat.
