With former President Donald Trump having publicly aired a number of grievances with his former Vice President Mike Pence, mostly centered around Pence's unwillingness to back Trump's false claims of a stolen 2020 Presidential election, it appears a 2024 Trump bid will feature a new running mate.
And a top Republican insider believes that running mate could be a woman.
Former GOP Communications Director Tara Setmayer said Trump will "probably pick a woman" in a new interview.
"We’ve already seen several Republican women that are vying for Trump’s affection," Setmayer told NewsNation on Tuesday, "from Kristi Noem to Elise Stefanik to others. To Sarah Palin, potentially."
Trump has not officially declared his candidacy for the 2024 Presidential race, but his name continues to poll well among Republican voters, though he does have some competition.
Recent polls have shown Ron DeSantis also popular with potential right-wing voters. DeSantis has drawn praise from Trump in the past but as his name has risen as a potential candidate for 2024, Trump has seemingly soured the Florida governor, who is up for re-election this November.
