Nikki Haley says a vote for Biden is a vote for 'President Harris'

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is slamming President Joe Biden over his age, saying it's unlikely he will "make it until 86 years-old."

In an interview with Fox News, the former United Nations ambassador and South Carolina governor predicted that Biden would die within five years if re-elected, leaving Vice President Kamala Harris as the commander-in-chief.

"I think we can all be very clear and say with a matter of fact that if you vote for Joe Biden, you really are counting on a President Harris because the idea that he would make until 86 years-old is not something that I think is likely," Haley said.

Biden, already the oldest president in U.S. history and whose age exceeds the average male life expectancy (73.2 according to the Centers for Disease Control), would be 82 when sworn in if reelected in 2024, and 86 at the end of his second term.

Biden officially announced his re-election campaign on Tuesday with a three-minute video asking voters to give him four more years to "finish this job," while taking a swipe at "MAGA" Republicans who are compromising "the soul of America" by taking away "bedrock freedoms."

Meantime, Haley launched her bid for the White House back in February with a promise to make older politicians take mental exams to hold office -- calling for a mandatory "mental competency test" for politicians over the age of 75.

Haley told Fox News the exams should be required "to make sure that these people deciding our national security, deciding our economic policy, deciding what happens to our kids in schools," are mentally fit to be making those decisions.

Biden, however, doesn't see his age as an issue -- though he previously admitted that concerns about his age are fair.

"It's legitimate for people to raise issues about my age. It's totally legitimate to do that. And the only thing I can say is 'Watch me,'" the president said during an interview with ABC News in late February.

He also previously told PBS he would be completely transparent if he thought a health issue would prevent or hinder him from carrying out his presidential duties.

"I would be completely, thoroughly honest with the American people if I thought there was any health problem, anything that would keep me from being able to do the job," he said. "But, you know, I just — I think people have to just watch me."

When it comes to the voters, polls indicate a majority of Americans don't think Biden is the right age to run again.

One poll from Yahoo News/YouGov found that 68% of registered voters think 82 years-old is "too old for another term" as president. The poll also found that 77% of voters were at least "slightly concerned" about Biden's overall health, and 49% were "very concerned."

Another poll from Harvard CAPS-Harris found that 67% of Americans think Biden is too old to be president, let alone run for reelection. The poll also found that 57% of registered voters have doubts when it comes to Biden's mental fitness.
