It appears Indiana is trying to be a ninja-friendly state.

The Indiana State Senate recently passed a bill that will legalize throwing stars, in some instances.

WXIN in Indianapolis reports the legislation would end a ban for the throwing stars in the state and allow them to be used for recreation.

The bill says, "Allows a person who is at least 12 years of age to possess a throwing star for recreational purposes on certain business premises if particular requirements are met. Makes the violation of certain throwing star provisions a Class C misdemeanor."

The throwing stars would be used in the same way that axes currently are.

Axe throwing is a growing recreational activity across the country.

The bill passed the Senate 48-1 and moves on next to the state's House of Representatives.

Throwing stars are currently illegal in Pennsylvania.

Also known as Shuriken in Japanese, the word means "sword hidden in the hand."
