A representative for actor said the 51-year-old is in critical condition, but that he is stable and is receiving “excellent care.”

At 9 a.m. police “responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada,” Sergeant Kristin Vietti with Washoe County Sheriff’s Office told Deadline.

The sheriff’s office said the actor was flown to the hospital.
Renner was the only person involved.

A neighbor of the actor told TMZ that the plowing machine, Snowcat, “accidentally ran over one of Renner’s legs.”

Renner, who is known for playing Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Avengers film franchise, was nominated for an Oscar in 2010 for “The Hurt Locker” and in 2011 for his role in “The Town”.
