A Wisconsin man who tried to evade police on Christmas morning ended up in handcuffs after getting stuck in a bush.

David Lunde, of Prescott, is now facing multiple charges including cocaine possession, resisting an officer and carrying a concealed weapon.

Police said the situation unfolded when an officer noticed a vehicle with a burned-out tail light make an improper turn. As the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver took off, hitting speeds of 60 miles per hour and running through at least one red light, according to the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram.

When the vehicle stopped, police said Lunde and another man jumped out and started running. As they ran through residential yards, Lunde jumped into a bush and attempted to hide, but ended up getting stuck.

The officer ordered Lunde out of the bush, but he was unable to move.

"I'm in here," Lunde said.

"Show me your hands! Get out now," the officer demands.

"I can't," Lunde responds.

The officer then pulled Lunde out of the bush and put him on the ground. During a search, the officer found a bag containing 25 grams of cocaine in Lunde's pocket, according to WEAU 13 News.

The foiled escape attempt was caught on dash cam video.

During a search of the vehicle, officers also recovered an 8-inch knife, according to the Leader-Telegram.

"At the [Eau Claire County] jail, Lunde told officers he had just been released from Washington County in Minnesota, where he had been arrested for drug possession and operating while intoxicated," the newspaper reported.

Lunde is now facing 15 years in prison if convicted as charged.
