The Snack Wrap is closer to returning than ever before, as the fast food giant McDonald’s discussed the return of the fan-favorite on its new menu, as well as another chicken item this year.
During an earnings call this month, a representative for McDonald’s shared that “there is incredible energy for the return of Snack Wraps in the U.S. along with a few other markets, and the U.S. will also launch a new chicken strip offering.”
The return for the Snack Wrap was first teased by CEO Chris Kempczinski last year during an appearance on “Good Morning America.”
Kempczinski said during the December interview that the company is “excited about the significant opportunity we see within our chicken portfolio.”
“[We] see the potential to add another point of chicken market share by the end of 2026,” Kempczinski said.
McDonald’s previously offered a standalone crispy chicken tender menu item known as “Chicken Selects.” However, it isn’t known if the new item will be similar to its predecessor.
Snack Wraps first debuted in 2006 and contained a smaller size strip of the Chicken Selects, with lettuce, cheese, and special sauce in a soft flour tortilla.
While the executives for the Golden Arches continue to discuss the new offerings, an official timeline for the return of the items has still not been set.
