An Ohio woman faces charges of animal cruelty after police say she admitted to locking her dog inside a hot car as a punishment.
A neighbor told police they saw the owner, Mouheb Ashakih, carry the dog, named Chapo, to her car and throw him in the back, the Sandusky Police Department said.

The witness told police he asked Ashakih to free the animal, but she yelled back, “I don’t care! I want him to die!”
Police said when they arrived at her home, they spotted the dog lying on the car floor.
“Mouheb began screaming upon observing her canine and begged us to break her car window,” said a police report reviewed by WTVG.
The officer who smashed the glass window described a “hot burst of air” released from the vehicle. The car’s interior had been ripped apart and was covered in blood from what police believe was the dog’s attempts to escape.
Although Ashakih told investigators she is an animal lover, police removed four other dogs from the home and arrested her. Authorities are holding her without bond.
