A rowdy passenger who was duct-taped to his seat after allegedly groping two flight attendants and punching another during a Frontier Airlines flight last July has now been sentenced to 60 days in jail.
The passenger, Maxwell Berry, had consumed numerous alcoholic drinks before the incident occurred, in which he inappropriately touched the backside of a flight attendant with his cup, a police report stated.
The Ohio resident was accused of groping two female flight attendants during the flight, according to authorities, The New York Times reported.
Things then got physical as the 23-year-old punched a male flight attendant, Jordan Galarza, in the face, leading to him being caught on camera duct-taped to his seat and going viral online, the Hill reported.
The video shows Berry was in his seat yelling, “my parents are worth two million goddamn dollars” and “I’m white. I’m sorry — I can’t change that.”
Galarza shared with WPLG that the flight crew had the support of all the passengers, saying Berry “made an enemy of everyone on that flight.”
He continued saying that the passengers “saw justice happen — more than what we saw today. I think it’s a disgusting miscarriage of justice, in my opinion.”
Galarza said that his main job while working is the safety of the passengers on his flight. He said the trip was successful in that aspect as everyone, including Berry, got “to Miami safely that day,” the Times reported.
Now that he has been sentenced, Berry has until the first of August to surrender to authorities and serve the 60 days, WPLG reported.
