A teen who was abducted out of his basement was found badly injured at a property about a mile away from the house. Three suspects were arrested in relation to the abduction.
The 17-year-old boy was abducted at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday from his home in Northeast Philadelphia, according to WPVI.
Officers arrived on the scene where the teen's family members told the police that they had heard a noise coming from their basement that sounded like a struggle. When they went to see what was going on, they discovered that the 17-year-old was gone, WPVI reported.
There was a bullet hole found in the basement, but the family told authorities they did not hear a gun discharge, only the sound of a struggle.
The Philadelphia Police Department found that the victim's vehicle was still parked outside of his home at the time of the abduction. They also found blood and three bullets in the vicinity of the house.
The police told WPVI that they found the boy's location through his cellphone, which he still had on him.
"We were able to track the 17-year-old's cell phone to a property in the 6200 block of Trotter Street," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said to WPVI. "When police went to that location, they declared it a barricade since we believed that this was an abduction point of a gun."
When authorities arrived at the scene, hostage negotiators and a SWAT unit were immediately dispatched at around 2 a.m. Monday morning, two days after the teen went missing.
Three suspects made contact with authorities upon arrival, one male and two females, all in their 20's. Luckily, authorities were able to convince them to leave the property, according to WPVI.
Police entered the premises and found the abducted boy bleeding heavily and suffering from bruising to his face and head. According to authorities, he was in and out of consciousness.
The teen was taken to a local area hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and was reunited with his family.
The motive for the abduction is not currently known, but WPVI did learn that authorities believe the teenager had a history with at least one of the three suspects involved in the case.
The Philadelphia Police Department identified all of the suspects arrested in the abduction with the victims' help. They are currently awaiting charges.
