Bill Clinton has been hospitalized in California for a health issue not related to COVID-19, according to his spokesperson.
The former president's spokesperson, Angel Ureña, said Thursday that Clinton was hospitalized at UC Irvine Medical Center. Clinton, 75, is "on the mend" and "in good spirits," according to Ureña.

Clinton's physicians, Dr. Alpesh Amin and Dr. Lisa Bardack, told CBS News Radio in a joint statement that Clinton has been hospitalized for two days of treatment since being diagnosed with an infection.
CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta reported it began as a urinary tract infection, then worsened.
"He was admitted to the hospital for close monitoring and administered IV antibiotics and fluids," the doctors wrote. "He remains at the hospital for continuous monitoring."
The former president is being treated with antibiotics and is responding well to the treatment, according to Amin and Bardack. They said they "hope to have him go home soon."
Clinton, who underwent quadruple bypass surgery in 2004, has been hospitalized at least three times following the end of his time in the White House. Following placement of stents in his heart a decade ago, Clinton became a vegan. He has been vaccinated for COVID-19.
