According to a recent report, a large caravan of migrants is heading from southern Mexico to the United States' southern border with the group called “God Guides Us.”
The caravan is made up of migrants from Venezuela, Colombia, Afghanistan, Nepal, and Haiti, according to the report from NewsNation, which received word of them from Rep. Mark Green (R-TN).
The group is looking to enter the United States before former President Donald Trump is possibly reelected as president. Trump has promised to mass-deport those who have entered the country illegally and close down the southern border to anyone not entering the country through legal means.
While the caravan is on its way through Mexico, NewsNation reports that groups like “God Guides Us” rarely make it to the border as a whole, as they often splinter in and around Mexico City.
Green, the chair of the House Committee on Homeland Security, shared that the group is making its move while President Joe Biden is still in office.
“Would-be border crossers know that their best chance to be released into American communities is under the open border policies of Joe Biden and his border czar, Vice President (Kamala) Harris,” Green said.
