“They have one thing in common, Low IQs,” said President Donald Trump in a Thursday Truth Social post of four well-known conservative media personalities who have previously been seen as his allies: Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly and Alex Jones.
Trump said the four have been “fighting” him for years (Audacy station KRLD has the whole post here). However, he was close with Carlson during the 2024 presidential election, with some reports even indicating he considered the former Fox News host as a running mate.
It’s worth noting that positions Trump’s administration don’t always last long. He’s recently ousted both Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi from positions as Department of Homeland Security secretary and attorney general, respectively. Mega-billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk was a close trump ally at the beginning of his second term and led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative before the two had a public feud.
Recently, each of the pundits Trump mentioned in his post have been critical of his decision to join Israel in attacks on Iran starting in late February. This move had resulted in U.S. servicemembers losing their lives and Iran blockading the Strait or Hormuz and spiking gas prices in the U.S. Overall, polls show that a majority of Americans oppose the decision to attack Iran, and the move has been met with declining approval ratings for Trump.
Even after a ceasefire agreement was declared this week, Trump said in another Thursday Truth Social post that “Iran is doing a very poor job, dishonorable some would say, of allowing Oil to go through the Strait of Hormuz,” and he claimed it violated the agreement. Vice President JD Vance was reportedly headed to Pakistan for further peace talks Friday.
“[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu launches terror attack on Beirut, destroying Trump’s ceasefire,” said Carlson in a Wednesday X post. “We need to detach from Israel immediately.”
Earlier in the week Carlson questioned Trump’s commitment to Christianity. Since Trump began his second term, Carlson also criticized the Trump administration’s handling of files related to the late convicted sex offender and once well-connected financer Jeffrey Epstein, another issue that has cause a rift among Trump and some of his stalwart supporters, like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who Trump mentioned later on in his rant. Melania Trump has also been at the center of new controversy surrounding Trump this week.
Owens has addressed the Epstein case as well. She has criticized the U.S. going to war in the Middle East too, and said in a Wednesday social media post that “there will never be peace in the world while Israel exists.”
Kelly recently went on a rant about Trump and the war in Iran, and Alex Jones said that he thinks Trump needs an “intervention,” and implied that he thinks the president might have dementia. After Trump’s Thursday post, Owens responded with this on X: “It may be time to put Grandpa up in a home.”
In Trump’s post, he said that the Carlson, Owens, Kelly and Jones “think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon,” and that “they’re stupid people.”
“They know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too!” the president added. “Look at their past, look at their record. They don’t have what it takes, and they never did! They’ve all been thrown off Television, lost their Shows, and aren’t even invited on TV because nobody cares about them, they’re NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS, and will say anything necessary for some ‘free’ and cheap publicity.”
Trump called the group "losers" and also included a slew of specific jabs at each of the pundits, such as calling Carlson a “broken” man, calling Jones “bankrupt,” and poking fun at Owens’ claims that French First Lady Brigitte Macron is a man.
“Actually, to me, the First Lady of France is a far more beautiful woman than Candace, in fact, it’s not even close!” said Trump.
In a Friday Truth Social post, Trump announced: “WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL RESET!!!” despite multiple outlets showing that his approval ratings remain low, including The New York Times and the Silver Bulletin.
