Not only do they have the nickname of "man's best friend," but they could also be called "sea lion's best friend" after a viral video found the two creatures playing a game of fetch.
The game took place at a beach in Santa Cruz over the weekend, and the two animals created a delight for on-looking beachgoers.
Dave Nelson was playing with his dog Moe when he noticed a sea lion following them as they played.
After a few more tosses, the two animals decided to see what was what with each other.
"It came all the way up to the beach, and Moe went out and sniffed, and the Sea Lion gave a couple loving barks," Nelson told KSBW.
Watching everything unfold in front of him, he captured the moment in order to prove the unbelievable interaction.
Moe, a chocolate lab, could be seen in the video sprinting down the beach to retrieve the ball while the sea lion dove in and out of the water to beat the dog.
The video has since gone viral online and will surely be the next script of either a Pixar or Disney movie.
