When did color get drained from interior design, and is it making a comeback?

In recent years, millennial beige became such a ubiquitous interior design trend that it’s now a meme, along with gray floors. However, trends change from generation to generation and at least one expert believes we may be seeing less neutrals in interior design soon.

This week “Something Offbeat” host Mike Rogers spoke with Charmaine Wynter – a repeat guest on the podcast – about millennials, their bland taste and the future of color in interior design.

“You know, millennials are now interested in nostalgia…” Wynter explained. “And they’re… moving away from having aesthetics that are just so neutral and so clean, and don’t embrace what they personally like.”

Each week, “Something Offbeat” takes a deeper look at an unusual headline. If you have suggestions for stories the podcast should cover, send them to us at somethingoffbeat@audacy.com.
