A Nevada woman managed to survive what could have been a violent carjacking incident by turning the tables on her assailant and killing him with his own gun.
The unidentified woman was with a friend and parked her car in a neighborhood in north Las Vegas on the night of November 19.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say that another vehicle pulled up and parked in front of the women, then “two or three men” got out of that car and approach the women with a gun, forcing them out of their car.
One of the men got into the women’s automobile but couldn’t figure out the push-to-start mechanism apparently. As he tried to start the car, he placed his gun in his lap.
The woman reached into the car, grabbed the gun and ran.
The suspect left the car and gave chase, tackling the woman. That’s when she turned around and shot him with his own gun, killing him at the scene.
Police say the killing was an act of self-defense, and that the unidentified woman will not be charged in the incident.
