Some residents of one West Virginia town are taking the loss of their local Hooters location hard.
The Hooters of Charleston was a victim of the pandemic nearly four years ago, but many held out hope that the location would at some point be reopened.
Unfortunately for them, the building will be demolished early next week.
To mourn the loss of their Hooters building, a candlelight vigil has been planned on Friday, February 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the location on the 5600 block of Washington Avenue in the Kanawha City part of Charlestown.
“Lets all gather in remembrance of the amazing power that was brought to us all by H00ters with a Candle Light Visual at the Kanawha City Location,” hosts Leonard Browning and Drew Cook wrote on Facebook. “Bring your candles and signs and lets let H00ters and the city know we will miss it tremendously.”
Chicken wings will be served along with “traditional Hooters sauce” with a limited number of sandwiches.
As of Thursday morning, 102 people have said they are going and 413 are interested in attending.
