AP: Nearly 1,000 Afghan evacuees are coming to Pennsylvania

The Biden administration is notifying governors how many Afghan evacuees from the first group of nearly 37,000 are being resettled in their states.

State Department data obtained by The Associated Press shows just under 1000 are coming to Pennsylvania.

California is taking in the most, more than 5200 people.

Hawaii, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming and the District of Columbia are not slated to resettle anyone from the first group of evacuees.
