A Pittsburgh native was named Sailor of the Quarter for the USS Iwo Jima.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Isaac Amoah was awarded for his efforts in exemplifying outstanding leadership and superior performance.
Amoah joined the Navy seven years ago and is currently serving as a hospital corpsman and works as an EMT or practical nurse.
An immigrant from Ghana, Amoah saw opportunities provided in the United States and joined the Navy as a way to give back and help protect the freedoms enjoyed in America.
Amoah is most proud of mentoring other sailors and providing guidance to those who progress through the ranks.
