PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) On Friday Jan. 22, 2021, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police recruit class BR20-01 graduated and are ready to begin field training.
The most recent group of recruits is comprised of 32 officers, including seven women, had to complete their training safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The recruits were sworn in by Police Chief Scott Schubert in two groups at the Training Academy in a socially distance ceremony.
Remarks were given by Public Safety Director Wendell Hissrich, as well.
The 32 new recruits will start a 13-week field training process, beginning Monday, Jan. 25.
