An investigative report from the Associated Press shows US Senate candidate John Fetterman kept a light work schedule as Lt. Governor.
Fetterman has campaigned on reinventing the lieutenant governor’s office but he was often absent from state business, including presiding over the state Senate, based on a review of his daily calendars and attendance records.
The AP investigation found Fetterman’s daily schedule was blank on roughly a third of the workdays since he took office up to the time of his stroke.
On days when his schedule was active, a typical work day lasted four to five hours. In 2019, Fetterman had nothing scheduled on 47 days.
In 2021, it was 115 work days with no activities or events and in 2022, before his stroke, there are nearly 70 days with nothing on his schedule.
His campaign attributes 20 absences in 2020 to pandemic restrictions and 10 others to scheduling conflicts.
In a video, Republican candidate Dr. Memhet Oz said “Pennsylvanians deserve better.”
Fetterman responded by claiming Oz “just showed up in PA last year to run for office”, “Hasn’t even been to all 67 counties” and “Is literally in California today raising money from billionaires.”
