Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden spoke to supporters in Wilmington, Delaware, around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, telling them to be patient as the counting of ballots -- particularly in Pennsylvania -- continues.
"We feel good about where we are. We really do," Biden said. "We believe we're on track to win this election ... It's going to take awhile. We're going to have to be patient ... And it ain't over until every vote is counted. Every ballot counted. We're feeling good about where we are ... It's going to take time but we're going to win Pennsylvania."
With his wife Dr. Jill Biden at his side, Biden added, "I'm here to tell you tonight we believe we’re on track to win this election. We knew because of the unprecedented early vote, the mail-in vote that it was going to take awhile . We’re going to have to be patient until the hard work of tallying votes is finished."
He concluded, “Thank you, thank you thank you and folks you heard me say it before every time I walked out of my grandpa’s house up in Scranton he’d yell 'Joey, keep the faith,'" he said. “Keep the faith, guys. We’re going to win this. Your patience is great."
