The state senate has confirmed Pittsburgh City Councilman Corey O'Connor as Allegheny County Controller.
Chelsa Wagner vacated the job earlier this year when she was sworn in as an Allegheny County Common Pleas judge.
Governor Tom Wolf nominated O'Connor to replace her.
O'Connor confirms that he'll start work on Monday.
O'Connor previously held a position on Pittsburgh's City Council starting in 2012, representing District 5. He expressed his gratitude via Twitter for the opportunity
Corey is the son of Bob O'Connor Pittsburgh's former mayor, who died in 2006 8 months after taking office from a brain tumor.
