Former Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine is being grilled on Capitol Hill as she faces confirmation to become the nation's next assistant health secretary.
Under the microscope is what SpotlightPA says are ongoing data discrepancies within Pennsylvania's public reports on Coronavirus cases and deaths among nursing homes throughout the Commonwealth.
Levine blames those discrepancies on lags in system uploads, a claim which the news organization disputes.
If confirmed, Levine would be the first openly transgender nominee confirmed by the Senate.
