Political reaction to President Joe Biden's first news conference of his presidency, as expected, fell along party lines.

Biden spoke to reporters for over an hour yesterday, answering questions with topics ranging from the economy to immigration.

For a Republican perspective, Larry and Kevin of the KDKA morning show spoke with U.S. Congressman Guy Reschenthaler, who represents Pennsylvania's 14th district.

Reschenthaler blasted the media for asking softball questions and criticized Biden for what he called a lackluster performance.

“The president was wondering with a lot of his questions, rambling, he was off topic,” said Reschenthaler. “If this were President Trump there’d be talk right now about the 25th Amendment.”

It was the first press conference Biden has held after over two months in office.

During the event, Biden announced they were accelerating their goal of 200 COVID vaccine shots in his first 100 days in office after hitting the initial goal of 100 million before his 60th day.

He also made headlines when he said his intention was to run for re-election in 2024, but reiterating he is currently focusing on the present.

Already the oldest president in American history, if Biden was to get re-elected, he would be 82 at the start of his second term.

President Biden is going to be in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

Biden is expected to talk about the American Rescue Plan recently passed by Congress as well as infrastructure, energy, manufacturing and jobs.
