A Pennsylvania Supreme Court justice is breaking with the Democratic Party.
David Wecht announced Monday he is no longer registered as a Democrat, saying he can no longer tolerate what he described as growing antisemitism within the party.
Wecht’s decision comes amid ongoing divisions over U.S. support for Israel and the war in Gaza.
Wecht has served on Pennsylvania’s high court for nearly a decade after previously serving as a county commissioner and Superior Court judge.
U.S. Senator John Fetterman voiced support for Wecht on social media, saying the Democratic Party must confront what he called a rising antisemitism problem.
