Pennsylvania lawmakers are looking ahead to 2027, with a new political landscape in Washington.
State Senator Jay Costa discussed on the Big K Morning Show his top priorities for the new year.
He said, "Probably at the top of that list will be the minimum wage, increasing the minimum wage. You'll probably see something like that happen in January. Similarly, we'll be looking at a means to provide funding for mass transit, which has been left behind and we're going to be running into that crisis again on in July 1st, but also looking at a couple of other things as it relates to data centers, for example, putting guard rails around the data center development."
Costa also says protecting Medicaid coverage is also a top priority as new federal requirements threaten coverage for thousands of Pennsylvanians beginning January first.
