A multi-state manhunt is underway for a murder suspect who escaped from a jail in Warren County last week.

34-year old Michael Burham escaped from the county jail last Thursday.

He was being held on arson and burglary charges and is a suspect in a murder investigation.

"In the past, when he was on the run, he was able to arm himself," said PA State Trooper George Bivens. "He's a dangerous individual and I think its entirely like that he's armed at this point."

Lt. Colonel Bivens describes Burham as a "self-taught survivalist with military experience."

He was last seen wearing a denim jacket, orange stripped jumpsuit and orange Crocs-style shoes, but he could have changed his clothes.

State Police said on Sunday that they found supplies and campsites that they believe Burnham used.

The manhunt has expanded to parts of the Allegheny National Forest

Burham is also accused of kidnapping a Pennsylvania couple last May and forcing them to drive him to South Carolina where he was arrested.

Anyone who sees Burham should avoid him and call State Police at 814-728-3600.

U.S. Marshals have issued a $7,500 reward and Warren County Crime Stoppers have issued a $2,000 reward for information leading to Burham's arrest.
