In Pennsylvania, the new year means higher tolls on the PA Turnpike.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is reminding drivers that tolls are set to go up over the weekend as 2025 becomes 2026.
Based on the funding formula, the common toll for a passenger vehicle will go up to a $1.94 for EZ Pass drivers and $3.88 toll by plate customers.
The toll increase is used to repay Act 44, which obligates the PA Turnpike Commission to help fund PennDOT.
Since passed in 2007, $ billion has gone to the commonwealth from tolls.
In 2027 toll increases will drop to 3.5 percent and in 2028 drop again to three percent.
Find how how much your trip will be by visiting the Turnpike's toll calculator.
