Over the past 48 hours the Pennsylvania Department of Health has added 15,785 new cases of COVID-19 across the state.
Nov. 25 there were 7,360 new reported cases, while Thanksgiving day saw a record high 8,425 positive tests.
The two-day total of new cases brings the statewide total of past or present coronavirus cases to 343,614.
During the same 48-hour period, 139 deaths were reported, bringing the statewide death toll to 10,234.
Of the newly reported deaths, 118 were reported from Wednesday, and 21 from Thursday.
The Health Department stated that there are currently 4,087 individuals hospitalized and 877 of them are in intensive care units.
Most hospitalized patients and deaths are from citizens ages 65 or older.
The statewide positivity rate stands at 11.1% from the dates Nov. 13-19.
The state Health Department continues to remind everyone that mask wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home.
Of these new numbers from the state, Allegheny County accounts for 1,642 cases and six deaths.
The Allegheny County positivity rate for COVID-19 has reached 22%.
