PA Department of Health COVID-19 update: June 16

HARRISBURG (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — The Pennsylvania Department of Health announced 312 new COVID-19 cases through Tuesday.

For all of the daily updates, the Department reveals changes in COVID cases through midnight of that morning.

The latest wave of positive tests brings Pennsylvania to an astounding 1,209,448 total, going back to when the pandemic was declared in March 2020.

Along with the over 300 new cases, the Department also announced 492 patients currently hospitalized with coronavirus.

129 of those patients are in intensive care units (ICU).

The cases and deaths have typically occurred within the 65 and older demographic, but a complete breakdown of the ages can be found on the Department of Health's website.

The statewide positivity rate for June 4 through 10 was 1.9%.

According to the Department, 17 new deaths were attributed to COVID-19 across the state, bringing the Pennsylvania total to 27,531.
