Have you ever been awakened at night by a loud motorcycle or a very noisy car?
Some state lawmakers want you have sweet dreams:
Two Democratic State House members out of Philadelphia are planning to introduce legislation that, among other things, would ban the sale of after-market exhaust and muffler systems that make cars and motorcycles alike louder than they're supposed to be.
They also want to set modern noise standards as to how loud a vehicle can be, and make sure any of them with an illegal exhaust fails inspection.
Their proposal would include fines of up to $1,000 and 30 days in jail.
They call the bill the Stop Loud and Excessive Exhaust Pollution or the SLEEP act.
