The Pennsylvania Lottery's is making a change to its Cash 5 game.
It's launching Cash 5 with Quick Cash on Tuesday. The Lottery says the game still be a nightly drawing, but will now include a chance for participant to win $2 or $6 instantly. When a player buys a Cash 5 with Quick Cash ticket, they're receive their ticket as usual, but they'll also be given a second ticket with the instant chance to win a prize.
The cost to play the game bumps to $2 per ticket, up from the previous $1 per ticket.
The Lottery is hopeful that the changes will bring more sales for a higher starting jackpot and provide players with higher jackpots.
Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. "We listened to our players and we heard what they wanted: more chances to win and higher jackpots."
Cash 5 was introduced on April 23, 1992. The last changes to Cash 5 were made in 2008. The game is the longest-running jackpot game for the Pennsylvania Lottery.
