On the morning The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry's new unemployment compensation system launched, it says it also experienced commonwealth-wide phone outages.
The department said on social media Tuesday morning the outage prevented it from making or receiving phone calls.
By 11 a.m., phones were working again.
A press conference to discuss the launch of the new unemployment compensation system is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
