Former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge was discharged from the hospital Sunday after suffering a stroke on June 16.
His team announced today Ridge was transferred to a rehabilitation facility in Washington D.C.
In a statement, his wife, Michele, said they are grateful to the public for their support.
"Tom wants everyone to know how much he appreciates all those who have reached out to offer their prayers, words of encouragement and love," said the former First Lady of Pennsylvania.
"It means so much to all of us. Tom hasn't lost his sense of humor nor his determination as he begins this important therapy."
