A man is in custody and currently in the hospital after a fire at the Governor's Mansion early Sunday morning.
No motive has been released yet following the arrest of 38-year-old Cody Balmer other than harboring hatred towards Governor Josh Shapiro, though it's not clear what was behind that hatred.
The criminal complaint says Balmer walked about an hour to get to the Governor's mansion, climbed a seven-foot wall and entering after smashing a window and throwing Molotov cocktails he made with beer bottles from gas in a lawn mower.
Balmer faces charges ranging from attempted murder, aggravated arson, terrorism and other charges.
Standing in front of the charred first floor of the Governor's Mansion in Harrisburg, Governor Josh Shapiro said political violence must come to an end.
“It is not okay, and it has to stop,” said Shapiro.
Several photos were released showing the damage to the Governor’s Residence.
