Wolf calls lack of new federal Coronavirus aid package 'disgraceful'

Two regional leaders are speaking up about the need for federal assistance to ease the burden their states and citizens are seeing during the second wave of the pandemic.

In a conference call with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, Governor Tom Wolf spoke about the need for federal funding to help states, businesses, and individuals facing financial difficulties and uncertainties during the pandemic.

Wolf says we need a comprehensive aid package right now.

"It's disgraceful, disgraceful, that right now in the midst of the worst surge of COVID-19 that our country has seen to date, when record numbers of Americans are dying, are being hospitalized, are catching this disease, our federal leaders seem to be incapable of providing Americans with the desperately needed support," said Governor Wolf.

Wolf says the CARES Act Funding was a good start for the spring, but now that expiration dates are approaching, something needs to be done.

Wolf said that the current bill under consideration in congress is a good step in the right direction, but it doesn't contain everything that he and others are looking for.
