We could be getting some snow squalls ahead of Friday’s arctic blast.
AccuWeather meteorologist Dean DeVore says they'll arrive in Pittsburgh sometime overnight.
“I think we’re going to be dealing with problems when we wake up [Friday], that initial batch of snow squalls comes through and then past that I think you’re going to see some streamers coming off of Lake Erie and that could be affecting parts of our area at times with some light snow,” said DeVore.
DeVore predicts we'll get about a coasting to an inch with reduced visibility, but he says it'll be the brutal temperatures that will be the biggest challenge on Friday, with temperatures dropping to the teens, with real feels about 20 below.
There is good news though. The cold blast won’t last that long with temperatures near 50 on Sunday and then temps in the 40s and 50s through next week.
Along with that, DeVore says this could be the last blast of frigid air we get for the rest of the winter.
