Potentially record heat followed by severe weather is headed our way.

We'll get an early taste of summer today, with highs forecasted to reach 83 degrees.

But Accuweather's Dean DeVore says that is exactly the kind of weather this time of year that could lead to storms.

“They’ll be crossing through the area as we get into a couple of jagged lines late this afternoon and then some more as we go through the overnight hours,” DeVore told The Big K Morning Show.

The National Weather Service anticipates damaging winds and a slight chance for isolated tornadoes and large hail.

The NWS adds the most likely time for severe weather Wednesday is between 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Once we get past that, conditions will improve, sunny and 60's for Easter weekend.
