Old Man Winter is back and AccuWeather Meteorologist Dean DeVore says it could be a messy Friday morning commute for the Pittsburgh area.
"So the next coupe of days we've got to deal with this blast of bitter air that's causing these snow showers this afternoon. There will be some more tonight into tomorrow morning, so you're going to need time and caution as we could see any of these put down a quick coating to an inch and maybe some spots get a couple of them."
The low temperature Thursday night will be in the upper teens, but DeVore says the frigid air will keep the real feel temperature in the single digits.
Snow will continue overnight into Friday with heavy squalls at times. Watch for icy patches on roadways if you must travel.
PennDOT suggests limiting driving and avoid unnecessary travel any time there is snow in the forecast.
A more prolific storm is in the offing as we go Sunday into Monday that could have a couple of parts that bring us a few to several inches of snow. We're looking at Sunday into Monday for that time frame.
