PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It hadn't happened all year, the Steelers scored on its opening possession. In fact, it was the first pure, first quarter scoring drive of the year as the Steelers moved 79 yards in 10 plays to start the game against the Titans on Thursday night.
Last week Kenny Pickett threw for eight yards the entire first quarter, against the Titans, 62 yards on the first drive including a 10-yard gain to Allen Robinson on third-and-six and a 19-yard connection to Diontae Johnson on a third-and-two.
Najee Harris would cap off the drive with a 10-yard touchdown run. Harris rushed for 13 yards all game against the Jaguars.
There were a couple of changes this week, Broderick Jones started in place of Chukwuma Okorafor at right tackle and Matt Canada moved from the coaching box to the sidelines for the first time this season.
The only other first-quarter touchdown was a 72-yard touchdown to Calvin Austin against the Raiders.
